Windows 10/11 Pro Product Key

I purchased Windows 10/11 Pro on October 11, 2022 | Order number [Removed PII]

. I just updated my desktop to Windows 11 and it didn't download the Windows Pro, only Windows 11 Home. I tried retrieving the product key through the cmd run administrator function, however I'm guessing that is just the standard generic key for Windows Home. I shouldn't have to purchase the key again since I've already to paid for it. How did I fix it? User's image

    Hi Trinha

    Steps to restore activation

    Go to Settings → System → Activation

    Select Change product key

    1. Enter the generic Pro key
         VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
      
      → Windows upgrades to Pro After reboot, go to Activation Windows should show:

    “Windows is activated with a digital licence”

    EDIT, I've should of added the following;

    Generic keys cannot activate Windows.

    Online activation checks/ reject generic keys.

    Edition upgrades can be performed without contacting activation servers.

    Microsoft‑aligned support guidance instructs disconnecting from the internet before entering the generic Pro key.

    Hello, Trinha.

    Try to fix the problem via:

    User's image

    If the Windows Pro license is in order, then the Home edition should be updated to Professional and the OS will be activated. When changing the key, enter the unique Pro key that you received when purchasing the license. Write about the result.
