I'm genuinely about to lose my mind I hate OneDrive with a passion. Is there a way to stop OneDrive autosaving my Steam files or just turn the whole thing off?

Click the OneDrive cloud icon in the taskbar

    Select Settings

    Go to Sync and backup

    Click Manage backup

    Turn off:

    Documents

    (and Desktop/Pictures if you want)

This immediately stops OneDrive from syncing Steam files.

HI, I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.
You probably have the OneDrive backup feature enabled for the Documents folder, which it syncing your save files from Steam.
To disable it, right-click the OneDrive icon on the right side of the taskbar > Settings > Sync and Backup > Manage Backup > Turn off the Documents option. (You can disable the other options if you don't want to sync them too.)

The folders may "disappear" because this process restores the default location of the folders, but don't move the files, you can move the files from the OneDrive folder to the current folder locations.

To stop OneDrive from autosaving your Steam files, you can disable the backup feature for the folders that OneDrive is syncing. Here are some steps you can follow:

    1. Manage Backup: Go to the OneDrive settings and look for the option to manage backup. Ensure that the folders related to Steam (like Documents, Desktop, etc.) are not selected for backup.
    2. Change Storage Location: If possible, consider changing the default save location for your Steam games to a folder that is not backed up by OneDrive.
    3. Unlink OneDrive: If you want to completely stop OneDrive from syncing, you can unlink your OneDrive account from your PC. This will stop all syncing activities.

If you still encounter issues, you might want to check if there are any specific settings in Steam that could be causing it to save files in a OneDrive folder.
