Hello, I'm Quinn and here to help!

Since you're installing Windows 11 using a bootable USB and the system goes from the Windows logo to a purple screen with only a cursor, this is usually caused by one of the following:

    • Unsupported hardware (very common for Windows 7-era HP Pavilion models)
    • TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot not enabled
    • Graphics driver incompatibility
    • Corrupt installation media
    • Failing HDD/SSD

Most HP Pavilion systems that originally ran Windows 7 do not officially support Windows 11.

    To fix this issue:

    1. Turn the laptop off.
    2. Turn it on and repeatedly press F10 (on most HP models).
    3. Then Check
      1. TPM 2.0 enabled
      2. Secure Boot enabled
      3. UEFI mode (not Legacy)
    4. If all are those are checked and the issue still persists, try to recreate the Windows Media Installer, use the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool:
      https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
      1. Recreate the USB
      2. Make sure it's GPT/UEFI compatible
      3. Try a different USB port

Could you please share the exact laptop model and specs? Thanks.

To address the purple screen issue on your HP Pavilion after attempting to install Windows 11, you can try the following steps:

    1. Boot into Safe Mode: Restart your PC and as soon as it starts, press and hold the power button to force shutdown. Repeat this process two more times until you see the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen. From there, select "Advanced options" > "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Settings" > "Restart". Once it restarts, choose "Safe Mode".
    2. Check for Driver Issues: In Safe Mode, go to Device Manager and check for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark. This could indicate driver issues that need to be resolved.
    3. Perform a System Restore: If you have a restore point set up prior to the installation, you can restore the system to that point. Go to "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "System Restore".
    4. Reset the PC: If the above steps do not work, you may need to reset your PC. Go to "Troubleshoot" > "Reset this PC" and choose whether to keep your files or remove everything.
    5. Reinstall Windows: If all else fails, you might need to create a bootable USB drive with Windows 11 and perform a clean installation. Make sure to back up any important data if possible.

These steps should help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the purple screen issue on your HP Pavilion.
