Hi Daniele Queen Jr,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that your laptop is plugged in and shows the charging symbol, but the battery percentage has not increased for several hours.
Please make sure you already tried the Q&A Assist steps. In addition, please try the following.
Before moving forward, I’d like to narrow this down slightly:
- Is the battery stuck at a specific percentage such as around 80%?
- Are you using the original charger that came with the laptop?
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
1, Restart the laptop while keeping it plugged into the charger.
2, Fully shut down the laptop, unplug the charger, wait 2 minutes, then plug the charger back in and power the device on.
3, Disable battery charging limits if supported by your device
- Check the device manufacturer’s battery or power settings app and turn off any charging cap or smart charging option.
4, Generate a battery report to check battery health
- Open Start
- Type Command Prompt
- Right‑click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator
- Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter
- Open the generated battery report file and check the battery capacity status
5, Update Windows and restart after updates are installed.
- Open Start
- Search for “Check for updates”
- Install any available related driver or package updates.
6, Test with another compatible charger or wall outlet if available.
