sfc /scannow fails to complete

Question

Running the latest Canary build on my Lenovo IdeaPad C340.

When running sfc /scannow it reaches 7% and then returns to the prompt after a few seconds.

What I have tried:

DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth - completes normally . Run SFC after a restart with the same result.

Run in Safe Mode with same result.

Run chkdsk c: /f, chkdsk c: /f /r, chkdsk c: /f /r /x all with no change as although it shows as starting the scan at startup, the scan never runs and it goes into normal startup.

Turning off the Hypervisor with no change.

Running DISM scanhealth, restorehealth again show as no corruption.
