Its now been another 36 hours and my account is still locked. How about you get a human to deal with me and not a robot! I told you days ago that I had urgent emails to deal with and now a week later absolutely nothing. No acknowledgement, not follow up email to say if my recovery attempts are pending nothing! I have now missed deadlines and what are you going to do about this!

Hello, I’m Virginia a fellow Windows user.

Please note we’re not Microsoft but fellow users like yourself & have no access to accounts.

    Try recovering your account here:

    Locked account:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/account-has-been-locked-805e8b0d-4141-29b2-7b65-df6ff6c9ce27

    Or:

    Can’t sign in:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/you-can-t-sign-in-to-your-microsoft-account-475c9b5c-8c25-49f1-9c2d-c64b7072e735

You can try also https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact & type Account Recovery in the box, then choose the Contact Support tab above & select Windows, then recovery from the drop down menus.

If none of the above work then you’ll require the account recovery form:

    https://account.live.com/acsr

Please note if you have 2/multi factor authentication active on your account then you cannot use the form to recover the account.

If you’re successful in changing the details then you may find that the account is limited for 30 days, this is a security feature & cannot be circumvented.

If your Outlook account is still locked after 36 hours, it's important to understand that Microsoft temporarily locks accounts after too many failed sign-in attempts or suspicious activity to protect your data. The best course of action is to wait for the lockout period to expire, which usually takes about 24 hours. During this time, avoid any further login attempts, as they can reset the cooldown period.

Once the lockout period is over, you can try to access your account again. If you continue to experience issues, you may need to fill out the Account Recovery Form again from a familiar device and location, providing accurate details to assist in the recovery process. Unfortunately, account recovery is fully automated, and Microsoft moderators or support agents cannot manually unlock accounts.

For urgent matters, it might be beneficial to check if there are alternative sign-in methods available or to contact Microsoft Support directly for assistance with your situation.
