SMTP protocole is not accepted with Outlook Classic and Free

Question

I use port 465 with smtp.free.fr and STARTTLS. But Outlook (Classic) indicates that connexion is not possible.

There have been multiple reports about problems connecting to a free.fr email account. It may not be your client settings.

To set up your incoming mail via IMAP, use the server imap.free.fr on port 993 with SSL/TLS security. For outgoing emails via SMTP, configure the server smtp.free.fr using port 465 with SSL/TLS or port 587 with STARTTLS. You must use your full email address as the username and ensure that outgoing server authentication is enabled using the same credentials as your incoming mail.

Be sure to use server authentication
