To make it short I am from the Philippines and my account somehow got locked and can't get back in without verifying but the only verification available to my account is my phone number and entering my phone number does not work, i tried reseting my password and still nothing, sometimes i get pass the "Try another verification method" but still it does not push through my phone number, my school account which is from microsoft can receive codes with no problem. Additionally my microsoft email is @gmail.com but somehow there is no option to send through that email. This number has worked with me for years since 2018 but microsoft doesn't want to release public statements or even updates on whether my account will be locked and for no absolute reason as well. I want assistance with at least giving me the option to send a code to my Gmail account or even my phone number, anyone in the microsoft team to personally look into this

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

The error message, "Try another verification method" is an indication that your account is temporarily blocked due to the system detecting unusual activity.

You will need to perform these steps to fix the verification method error:

    1. Perform a password reset via Incognito/InPrivate window using different devices and network services.
    2. If your recovery phone number still doesn't work, wait exactly 48 hours to perform another password reset.

Important: Please make sure not to attempt to sign in or reset the password within that timeframe (48 hours), as this may reset the lock cooldown.

Lastly, I highly recommend checking the official Microsoft article regarding account blocks, particularly the "I see a Try another verification method message" tab: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/troubleshooting-verification-code-issues-409090c4-92b5-42b9-8ae6-bcc97e62fc48#:~:text=If%20you%20received%20a%20Microsoft%20verification%20code%20that%20you%20did#:~:text=If%20you%20received%20a%20Microsoft%20verification%20code%20that%20you%20did

Thank you for your understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

If you're facing issues with your Microsoft account being locked and are unable to receive verification codes via your phone number, here are some steps you can try:

    1. Use a Different Browser or Incognito Mode: Sometimes, the verification page may not render correctly. Try accessing your account in a different browser or in incognito/private mode to see if that resolves the issue.
    2. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can help resolve issues related to stored data that may be causing problems with the verification process.
    3. Check Your Account Security Settings: Ensure that your phone number is correctly listed in your account security settings. You can do this by visiting the Microsoft account security page and checking the recovery options.
    4. Alternative Recovery Options: If your phone number is not working, consider using any backup email addresses you may have added to your account for recovery. If you have access to those, they might allow you to receive verification codes.
    5. Contact Microsoft Support: If none of the above steps work, you may need to contact Microsoft Support directly for assistance. You can do this by visiting the Microsoft support page and following the prompts to reach out for help regarding account recovery.

Unfortunately, there may not be an option to send verification codes to your Gmail account if it is not set up as a recovery option. It's essential to ensure that all recovery methods are correctly configured in your account settings.
