How to change thickness of I-cursor pointer (NOT the text cursor)l.

How can I change the thickness of I-cursor pointer (NOT the text cursor)? I am talking about the upper-case I-shaped pointer that is used to position the text cursor (the vertical line that appears at the point where typing occurs). All the discussions so far are about the text cursor, not the I cursor. (Some discussions use the terms as if they were interchangeable, which they are not.) Having this fat black I (or Roman numeral I) is very distracting. I can't find a way to insert the Roman numeral or I character; it looks like a capital I using a font like Bodoni MT Black, or Goudy Stout.

There is no available method to change the thickness of that cursor, but you can change it to another cursor.

Open the old Control Panel (not the settings app).

At the top of the old Control Panel set View to large icons.

    Open the Mouse applet.

Select the Pointers tab on the resulting utility.

In the resulting list, scroll down to find the 'Text Select' cursor.

Then click the Browse button and you will see a full list of the available cursors.

If you just need to make that cursor thicker, the beam)rm.cur may be a good choice.

What is "the context provided" as in "the context provided does not contain specific information on how to change the thickness ... "? My question is the context provided, and obviously I didn't provide the "specific information on how to..."

Unfortunately, the context provided does not contain specific information on how to change the thickness of the I-cursor pointer (the vertical line used for text input) in Windows 11. The available resources focus on other aspects of cursor appearance and visibility but do not address modifications to the I-cursor's thickness directly.

For adjusting cursor settings, you may want to explore the accessibility settings in Windows 11, but please note that the thickness of the I-cursor itself may not be customizable through standard settings.
