MICROSOFT FOR GOD'S SAKE, IT'S 2026. WILL YOU FIX THIS ONLINE VERSION OF OUTLOOK ALREADY??????????????

I use Microsoft To-Do. When I need to check on an Outlook 365 Desktop email converted to a task, I click on "Open in Outlook." Instead of opening in Outlook 365 Desktop (despite settings to do so), it opens in the online Fisher Price version of Outlook.

That opens email in an email address with an address of "outlook_3415nk;,******@outlook.com," whic displays the latest mail from January 2023. I don't have an Outlook.com email address, I don't want an Outlook.com email address. I have my own domain email addresses.

I just want to have my friggin' email open properly in Outlook online so I don't have to go hunting for it.

  1. How do I get rid of that Outlook.com email address?
  2. How do I get Outlook.com to open my danged current three email accounts?

To address your issue with Outlook online and the unexpected use of an Outlook.com email address, here are some steps you can take:

    1. Remove the Outlook.com Email Address: If you are seeing an unwanted Outlook.com email address, it may be due to a misconfiguration in your Outlook profile or account settings. You should check your account settings to ensure that your primary email account is set correctly and that any Outlook.com accounts are removed.
    2. Set Up Your Domain Email Accounts: To ensure that your current email accounts open correctly in Outlook online, you may need to verify that they are properly configured in your Outlook settings. Make sure that your domain email addresses are added to your Outlook account and that they are set as default if necessary.
    3. Use the Correct Outlook Version: If you want to open emails in the desktop version of Outlook instead of the online version, ensure that your settings in Microsoft To-Do are configured to open tasks in the desktop application. You may need to check the default application settings on your computer.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance, as they may be able to provide more tailored help based on your specific account setup.
