Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hello Godfrey Nwoke,
Thank you for reaching out in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand how confusing it feels to see a renewal charge higher than the amount shown in the email.
For Microsoft 365 Family, the email normally shows the base subscription price, but the final amount on the credit card can be higher because stores or payment processors may add local taxes, currency conversion differences, or bank fees. The amount shown on the Microsoft renewal email does not include any extra charges applied by the card issuer. To confirm the exact breakdown, you can check the order total inside your Microsoft account and then compare it with the charge on the bank statement. If the amount on the Microsoft order does not match what the bank charged, the bank can clarify any added fees such as international transaction or currency conversion.
With the billing problem, if you want to know more details, you'll need to contact Microsoft support directly: Go to Contact - Microsoft and sign in to your account > type "Billing and Payment" > Click "Get Help" and select "Contact Support" > Select Microsoft 365 and Office as the products and services, and select Billing and Payment Updates as the category > Click "Confirm".
Note: The live chat support team is only available during certain business hours. So if the last window says you're unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave your phone number. That way, they'll be able to call you and help.
