Purchased Office 365 Business and cannot access or download

I just purchased 365 business standard, and I cannot download or access office 365. Do I have to wait for the licensing to be processed? After I purchased, I was not given any information on the next step in the process.

The good news is that, in most cases, there’s no long processing delay, but access depends on how and where you signed in after purchasing Microsoft 365 Business Standard.

    Here’s how things typically work and what you can check:

    1/ Sign in with the correct account:

    After purchasing a business subscription, access is tied to the Microsoft 365 business account (tenant) that was created or used during checkout. Please make sure you’re signing in at: office.com using the same email address you used to purchase the subscription (this is often a work or custom‑domain email, not a personal Outlook/Hotmail account).

    If you sign in with a personal Microsoft account by mistake, you won’t see the Business Standard subscription or the install options.

    2/ Check license assignment:

    If you’re the first or only user in the tenant, you may still need to assign the license to your user account:

    • Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center: admin.microsoft.com
    • Open Users > Active users
    • Select your user account
    • Under Licenses and apps, confirm that Microsoft 365 Business Standard is assigned

    Once the license is assigned, access to Office apps and downloads should become available.

    (If you’re not the admin, you’ll need the person who manages the tenant to assign the license to your user).

    2/ Download and install Office apps:

    After confirming the license:

    Go to office.com

    Sign in with your business account

    Select Install apps (top right) to download and install Office

    You should then be able to activate Office by signing in with the same account after installation.

    3/ If you still can’t see the subscription:

    If you’ve confirmed you’re signed in with the correct account and the license is assigned, but you still can’t access or download Office, the next step would be to contact Microsoft Support so they can verify the purchase and tenant setup.

    You can create a support ticket by signing in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and following the steps in this link: Get support for Microsoft 365 for business to create a support ticket from the admin center or by calling phone support to contact Microsoft Support: Customer service phone numbers. If you don't have admin privileges, you can ask your IT admin to do it on your behalf.
