I haven't had any issues to come from this lately, but then suddenly I got booted from my school's authenticator account for both my computer and phone.

My account is <mod: PII removed>@camosun.ca

I cannot receive a code since both my app and computer are locked out from the app.

I can't do the email to ask to fix my account/ unlock because my account is a school one. please help unlock my account, I need it to access my important info for classes and basically everything academically.

My personal email is <mod: PII removed>@gmail.com

    Hello,

Microsoft does not directly manage organization users. Instead, each organization's IT administrator is responsible for managing its users according to its internal protocols.

You should contact your organization's IT support team. They need to reset your MFA for you in order for this to work. Once the reset is completed, follow these steps:

    1. Open your web browser and navigate to https://login.microsoftonline.com.
    2. Sign in to your account.
    3. You will be prompted to set up MFA again. Make sure to update your phone number during this process.

If your organization's IT administrator requires guidance, they can follow these steps:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Admin Center at https://admin.microsoft.com using their credentials.
    2. Navigate to Users > Active Users in the left-hand menu.
    3. Select the relevant user.
    4. On the user card that appears on the right, scroll to the bottom and click Manage multifactor authentication.
    5. On the MFA settings page, locate the user's name, select it, and click Manage user settings on the right.
    6. In the pop-up box, check the first box and click Save.

This process will reset MFA for the user, allowing them to set it up again.

    Hi Sonny,

I understand how stressful this situation is, especially since your school account is required for classes and academic work. I want to reassure you that your account is not deleted or hacked — this is a common issue and it can be fixed.

What’s happening is that your Microsoft Authenticator access was reset or invalidated, likely due to a recent system or device change. Because Authenticator was the only verification method set up on your account, you’re now stuck in a loop where it asks for a code that you can’t receive. Unfortunately, this can’t be fixed from your phone or computer on your own.

The important thing to know is that only your school’s IT team can unlock this. No app reinstall, password reset, or waiting will resolve it.

You’ll need to contact Camosun College IT / Service Desk using one of their non‑email options, since your school email is currently inaccessible. This usually includes:

    • Submitting a support ticket using a personal email
    • Calling their IT help desk
    • Visiting an on‑campus IT support desk

    Regards

    Hinesh Bandlamudi
