Hi.

How to fix my left & right volume drag thingy is going together at the same time whenever I use an earphone &/or headphone?

Left & right volume balance can't go independently.

My right earphone is louder than my left earphone so I wanted to balance the left & right sound on my earphones but can't due to the left & right volume dragger stuck together.

I have 2 earphones: 'ENACFIRE Future' & 'Earfun Air' both Bluetooth/wireless - same issue.

Thanks, hope I said it clearly.

    Hi ABC Jelly,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

With most Bluetooth earbuds, Windows 11 treats the device as a single stereo output. Because of how these devices present their audio controls, the Left and Right balance sliders may move together instead of independently.

Here are some possible options for you to move forward:

    1, Check classic Sound settings

    • Press Windows + R, type mmsys.cpl, and press Enter
    • Select your earbuds under Playback tab
    • Right-click the earbuds > Properties > Levels > Balance

If both sliders move together, the device doesn’t support separate channel control in Windows.

    2, Use Mono audio

    • Open Settings > Accessibility > Audio
    • Turn Mono audio ON

3, Check the earbud’s companion app

    • If available, some manufacturers allow left/right tuning inside their mobile app. Any adjustment there applies directly on the earbuds and works across devices.

To address the issue of your left and right volume controls moving together, you may want to check the settings for your audio device. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Check Audio Settings: Go to Settings > System > Sound. Look for your audio output device and click on Device properties. Ensure that any balance settings are set correctly.
    2. Headset Properties: In the Sound dialog box, select your headset or earphone, then click on Properties. Navigate to the Advanced tab and make sure that the option to allow applications to take exclusive control of the device is unchecked. This can sometimes resolve issues with volume control.
    3. Use Balance Control: If your audio application supports it, look for a balance control feature that allows you to adjust the left and right audio channels independently. This might be found in the audio settings of the application you are using.
    4. Driver Update: Ensure that your audio drivers are up to date. Sometimes, reinstalling or updating the audio drivers can fix issues with volume control.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider testing your headphones on another device to see if the problem persists, which could indicate a hardware issue.
