    I'm not sure what is going on here. I don't think èÈ etc are available on keyboard layouts for English. On my Swedish keyboard, I can produce these letters, but I need to press first a mute accent key and then press the vowel to get the letter.

    Keep in mind that language and keyboard settings are separate. For instance, I have Windows running in US English, but my keyboard layout is Swedish.

    If you want a keyboard layout different from what ships with Windows, this is possible. You can use the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator. I have used this myself to create a slightly altered layout for Swedish.
