Hi, I am an user of the Windows insider program. But when I click on the settings>Windows update> Windows insider program, I see one message saying= "We can't reach the windows insider program right now. Please try again later or check the forums for info." What is this? and why I am not seeing any build info?

    Hello DR,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

I see you're having trouble accessing the Windows Insider Program from your settings. It shows "We can't reach the Windows Insider program right now. Please try again later or check the forums for info" (your PC is unable to connect properly to Microsoft’s Insider servers). Here's some methods you can try:

    1. Enable Diagnostic and Feedback

    • Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Diagnostics & feedback.
    • Under Diagnostics & feedback, turn on Send optional diagnostic data.
    • Restart your computer and check if the issue persists.

    2. Verify network

Switch to a mobile hotspot or test your device on a different network, since certain router or firewall settings may block Windows Insider services.

    3. Check for updates

Open Settings > go to Windows Update and download all the pending updates if available.

    4. Use Registry Editor (regedit)

If the issue persists, you can force Windows to enable preview/Insider build eligibility through the Registry Editor:

Important note: Modifying the registry or workgroups is usually geared towards advanced users, administrators, and IT professionals, and it can help fix some problems, however, improper registry modifications can cause serious problems. Therefore, please make sure to follow the steps below strictly. For further protection, make a backup of the registry before modifying it. For more information on how to backup and restore the registry, please refer to: How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

    • Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
    • In the Registry Editor, go to View > Check Address Bar to make navigation easier.
    • Copy and paste the following path into the address bar: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability
    • Create or set DWORD "EnablePreviewBuilds" to 1.
    • Restart PC and check Insider settings.

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
