Issues with Wifi disconnecting upon restart or Sleep mode - Windows 11 - Lenovo Slim Yoga

Hi

I wondered if you could help me please I have had a persistent issue for sometime that I cant seem to resolve on both my laptop - Lenova and my daughters HP.

So in essence the Wifi keeps disconnecting upon restart/power down. The internet is Gigaclear and is working/operating fine on other devices.

To get it to work I have completed the following solutions

  1. Disabled Power Saving Mode - I don't seem to have a Power Management Tab in my Network driver (INTEL (R) Wi Fi 6E AX211 160MhZ). I have researched how to reconnect this tab but nothing has worked to date. I have noticed the tab does appear on the Bluetooth wireless tab
  2. Updating or Reinstall Driver - I have completed this several times following online video's and I have to say it has NEVER worked.
  3. Run Network Reset - I have completed this several times followed by Command Prompt resets - This has worked on each occasion but it is starting to get annoying as i need to do it every time and doesn't offer a permanent solution.
  4. Network Troubleshooting has been completed several times but again doesn't offer a permanent solution.

Please help as it is driving me mad.

Kind regards

    Welcome James muir,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating it can be when Wi‑Fi disconnects after restart or sleep on Windows 11 devices, and the connection only recovers after performing a network reset.

To speed up the resolution, please confirm the following:

    • Does the Wi‑Fi fail only after Restart or Sleep, or also after a full shutdown and cold boot?

In the meantime, you can try the workaround steps to troubleshoot the issue:   Option 1: Disable Fast Startup

    • Open Control Panel by searching on Start menu > Power Options > select Choose what the power buttons do
    • Select Change settings that are currently unavailable
    • Uncheck Turn on fast startup
    • Restart the device

Option 2: Check WLAN AutoConfig service

    • Press Windows key + R > type services.msc and press Enter
    • Locate WLAN AutoConfig
    • Make sure Startup type is set to Automatic
    • If the service is running, restart it

Option 3: Update system firmware and chipset

    • Go to the device manufacturer’s official support website
    • Install the latest BIOS/UEFI and chipset drivers for Windows 11
    • Restart the device after installation

Option 4: Reset network adapter advanced settings

    • Open Device Manager by searching on Start menu > expand Network adapters > open the Wi‑Fi adapter properties
    • Go to the Advanced tab
    • Restore all values to default
    • Restart the device

5, Disable Wi‑Fi power saving at system level

    • Open Control Panel by searching on Start menu > select Power Options
    • Select Change plan settings for the active plan
    • Select Change advanced power settings
    • Set both On battery and Plugged in to Maximum Performance

I really hope that the information I gave above was helpful to you. Please feel free to reply below and let me know if you have further concern on this matter.
