Some days ago, I tried recovering the login details for a microsoft account I hadn't used in a long while. I wanted to recover these details, because it is the account that my Minecraft purchase from Mojang back in 2014 was transferred to in 2021.

But due to too many failed log-in attempts and password recovery attampts, my account got locked, and the standard procedures for unlocking it seems to have just locked it down further.

I have tried following the automated procedures (including the "account recovery request" form) and the result is just that Microsoft can't "confirm" that I am truly the owner of the account. I just get the response below:

"We recently received a request to recover your Microsoft account (redacted). Unfortunately, we have determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership.  Microsoft takes the security and privacy of our customers very seriously, and our commitment to protecting your personal information requires that we take the utmost care in ensuring that you are the account owner.

We have taken the additional step of blocking your account until we can verify you as the account owner. This will prevent any further use of the account and protect you from any possible malicious activity."

So since the automated procedures don't work, I'd like to contact someone and have the process be manually handled. If they really "take the security of their customers very seriously", I'd think they would be willing to help a customer out.

I have the emails with the receipt of the original purchase and the email showing the succesful transfer. I've also confirmed via https://account.live.com/username/recover that the account I'm trying to recover is indeed tied to the email address that has the purchase receipt and transfer-verification. It also shows that my personal phone number is also associated to the same email as the account. So I could even answer the phone to prove that it is my account. I can also actually still play the purchased Minecraft game, because the authentification is still cached locally on my PC, but if I ever log out or otherwise accidentally lose that cache, I'll lose access to minecraft. Which is frankly just incredibly frustrating when I've legitimately bought the game.

However, none of the above proof helps me with any of the automated processes, and any help-tickets I'd make for Minecraft support would get closed immediately, essentially saying "We can't do anything, ask Microsoft".

So, to summarize, how can I get into actual contact with Microsoft for support?
