My camera is not working. Is there a button to counteract this, because nothing is blocking the camera and the white light turns on perfectly fine? I just need a response.

Hi! Let me help you with this.

    Check Windows Camera Privacy Settings

    Press Windows key + I

    Go to Privacy & Security

    Click Camera

    Make sure:

    Camera access is ON

Let apps access your camera is ON

The specific app (Teams, Zoom, etc.) is allowed.

If none of the above work, please try a hard reset.

    Shut down the laptop completely

Click Start → Power → Shut down

Make sure it’s fully off (no lights, no fan)

    Unplug everything

    Remove the charger

Disconnect USB devices, mouse, keyboard, headset, HDMI, etc.

    Drain residual power

Press and hold the Power button for 20–30 seconds

    Don’t release it early

    Reconnect power

Plug only the charger back in (nothing else)

    Turn the laptop on

    Press the Power button normally

Most camera issues can be due to a physical privacy cover covering the lens. Make sure that's not the case.

Otherwise there is usually a physical button/key/switch you can use to turn the camera on or off. For example, most Lenovo uses F8 or Fn+F8, or a switch above the lens, HP has a camera key or a button on the side of the laptop, MSI uses F6 or Fn+F6, etc.

If you are not sure, tell me the brand of your camera
