    Hi Travis pinto,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand you are receiving error code 0x800704cf stating that you are not connected to Wi‑Fi when trying to sign in, even though the device is online, and this is happening with a newly created account after your previous account was compromised.

To ensure we are aligned, please confirm the following:

1, Are you seeing this error when signing in to Windows itself, or specifically when signing in to Microsoft Store?

2, Are you using a personal Microsoft account, or a work or school account?

In the meantime, you can try these steps:

1, Verify system date and time are correct

    • Open Settings
    • Go to Time & Language
    • Select Date & time
    • Turn on Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically

    2, Disable proxy settings

    • Open Settings
    • Go to Network & Internet
    • Select Proxy
    • Make sure Use a proxy server is turned off

    3, Reset Microsoft Store cache

    • Press Windows + R
    • Type wsreset.exe
    • Press Enter and wait for the Store to reopen automatically

4, Sign in to the account via browser first

    5, Re-register Microsoft Store

    • Press Windows + X
    • Select Windows Terminal (Admin)
    • Run the following command
    • Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppxManifest.xml"}

This error occurs when there is a connection problem with the servers.

Do you have another network you can test with? It could be a mobile hotspot.

If not, try disabling IPv6 and see if the error persists.

    Press Windows + R and type ncpa.cpl
    Right-click on your network device
    Go to Properties
Look for Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6), uncheck it and click OK.

Check if the error persists, then repeat the steps and enable IPv6 again.
