    Dear oscar arauz

Thank you for your question and for sharing the details into Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I understand how blocking it can be when Windows won’t activate. To help narrow down the cause and guide the right fix, could you please share a bit more information?

    • What Windows edition is installed now (Windows 11 Home or Pro) in Settings > System > About?
    • What exact error code do you see in Settings > System > Activation (for example: 0xC004F050)?
    • What exact message is shown on the Activation page (please paste it)?
    • Are you activating with a product key or a digital license?
    • If using a product key, where did you get it (preinstalled with PC / Microsoft Store / retailer / organization)?
    • Did you recently reinstall/reset Windows or change hardware (especially motherboard/CPU)?
    • Are you signed in to Windows with a Microsoft account (Settings > Accounts > Your info)?

In the meantime, please try these basic steps:

    • Turn off VPN/Proxy, confirm date/time/time zone are correct, then restart the PC.
    • Go to Settings > System > Activation > Troubleshoot and run the troubleshooter.
    • Open Command Prompt (Run as Administrator) and run: slmgr /ato

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.

I hope the steps above help resolve the activation issue quickly and minimize downtime. Wishing you a smooth experience getting Windows 11 activated and returning to your usual workflow.

    Hi,

Where did you purchase your Windows license? Was it directly from Microsoft, from a third party, or did it come preinstalled on your computer?

What recent changes have been made to your computer?

In the search bar, type 'Command Prompt' and run it as administrator.

Then, copy and paste the command below and press Enter. A pop-up will appear; please share a screenshot of that window.

    slmgr.vbs /dlv

If you are unable to activate Windows 11 Pro or Home, there are several common issues you may encounter:

    1. Product Key Issues: Ensure that the product key you are using matches the edition of Windows you are trying to activate. If you upgraded from Windows Home to Pro, you need a valid Windows Pro key.
    2. Digital License: If your previous device had a digital license linked to your Microsoft account, make sure that the new device is also linked to the same account. If the previous device has been removed from your account, it may affect activation.
    3. Activation Errors: You might see error codes such as 0xC004F034, which indicates that Windows is not activated. This can occur if the device does not have a firmware-embedded activation key or if the starting edition of Windows was not Windows Pro.
    4. Troubleshooting Steps: You can try using the activation troubleshooter available in the Activation settings. If that does not work, you may need to enter the product key manually or contact Microsoft support for further assistance.
    5. OEM Activation: If your device came pre-installed with Windows, ensure that it is using the OEM-specific activation tools, if applicable.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, consider reinstalling Windows or checking if your Windows version is currently supported.
