All of my email is going into my junk folder by default and then I have to move it into my inbox

Like the title says all of my emails that people send me go directly into my junk folder despite me manually, putting them back into my inbox and checking the option to keep all emails directly into the inbox from the sender instead of into the junk mail box.

How do I solve this problem?

Thank you for letting me know.

Just to double-check: Sometimes a rule can accidentally move all emails: Go to Settings > Mail > Rules.

Look for any rule that moves mail to Junk.

Please test sending mails to yourself using another email account, and monitor if the issue persists.

Also, check your Junk email settings (Outlook on the web):

    Sign in at https://outlook.live.com/mail

Click Settings (gear icon) > Mail > Junk email.

Check if: Trusted senders are added under Safe senders and domains > and there are no important senders under Blocked senders.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. First, are the emails still in your Deleted Items folder, or are they gone completely?
    2. Did you receive any alerts, notice unusual activity, or received any notice that your security info was changed (email/phone updated)?

In the meantime, if you haven’t already:

In https://outlook.live.com/mail go to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Rules and Mail > Forwarding to make sure no one has set up rules to forward or delete your messages.

Check if you still have access to your Microsoft account and make sure you're currently signed in https://account.microsoft.com/ If you’re locked out, let me know.

If you still have access, just to be safe, I’d recommend to sign out everywhere. Visit: https://account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional Scroll down to Sign me out and select "Sign me out".

And changing your password again and enabling two-step verification if you haven’t already. This will add an extra layer of security to prevent future unauthorized access.

To prevent this from happening again, I recommend turning on two-step verification and reviewing your recent activity page to make sure your account is fully secure. I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

If your emails are consistently being sent to the Junk folder in Outlook, there are several steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Check Blocked Senders List: Ensure that the email addresses of the senders are not on your Blocked Senders list. You can manage this list in your Junk Email options.
    2. Add Senders to Safe Senders List: Make sure to add the email addresses of the senders to your Safe Senders list. This will help ensure that their emails are delivered to your Inbox instead of the Junk folder.
    3. Review Spam Settings: If you are using Exchange Online, check the anti-spam policies configured for your mailbox. Emails from senders in your Blocked Senders list will automatically be classified as spam and sent to the Junk folder. You can configure these settings using Exchange Online PowerShell.
    4. Mobile Device Settings: If you access your email on a mobile device, check if there are any spam settings or filters that might be affecting email delivery. Sometimes, mobile applications have their own spam filtering settings that can interfere with Outlook.
    5. Reset Folder Names: If the issue persists, you might consider resetting the folder names in Outlook using the command Outlook.exe /ResetFolderNames. This can help restore the default folder settings.

By following these steps, you should be able to reduce or eliminate the number of emails being sent to your Junk folder.
