Issues installing Windows Update 25H2

Question

Been having a tough time installing Windows updates for the past couple of years or so. Last successful update was Windows 11 24H2 back on 11/23/2024. Fast forward to now and I'm trying to get the updates working again. Latest update 25H2 has errored out multiple times. The latest error code is 0x80246007 back on 2/22/2026.

I found a clean install of WIndows 11 25H2 eliminated a lot of acculated problems.

You can use the Windows 11 ISO to update your system. This will repair your system while also updating it, ensuring that you won’t encounter update issues in the future. It will not affect any of your files.

Steps:
Download the Windows 11 ISO file using the Media Creation Tool from the link below:

Once the download is complete, right‑click the ISO file and select “Mount.”

Open This PC, go to the newly mounted virtual drive, and double‑click setup.exe to begin.

When the installation window appears, click Next. When prompted to “Get updates,” it is recommended to choose “Not right now.”

At the “Choose what to keep” step, make sure to select “Keep personal files and apps.”

Click Install to start the repair installation.
