I can solve this by unpluging my second monitor (Dell U2312HM) and repluging it in after rebooting (without dealing with the bit locker. Also, from sleep mode when it wakes up this monitor resolution is at 640X480. Solved again by a hard boot of the monitor. I have a windows 11 connecting 2 monitors with a DP cable. Windows problem? Monitor problem? DP cable problem?

Hello, I’m Quinn and I’m here to help!

Please try checking the BIOS/UEFI settings. To enter BIOS, restart your computer and press one of the following keys repeatedly during startup (depending on your device: Del, F2, F10, F12, or Esc)

    In BIOS, make sure:

Secure Boot = ON (if it was previously enabled)

    TPM = Enabled

Boot order = Your main SSD is set as the first boot device

No recent changes were made to these settings

Your BIOS is updated to the latest version If anything was changed, please set it back exactly as it was before. If it doesn't work then try suspending protection:

    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Search for BitLocker Drive Encryption (top-right search box)
    3. Select it
    4. Click Suspend protection
    5. Restart your computer and test
    6. Once everything works normally, you can Resume protection in the same window.

The issue you're experiencing with BitLocker prompting for recovery and the monitor resolution reverting to 640x480 after waking from sleep mode could be related to how Windows handles multiple monitors, especially with USB-attached displays or certain configurations.

    1. BitLocker Recovery Prompt: If your system is entering BitLocker recovery mode at boot, it could be due to changes in the boot configuration or the connection of the second monitor. BitLocker is sensitive to hardware changes, and if it detects a different configuration, it may prompt for recovery. Unplugging and replugging the monitor may reset the configuration, allowing the system to boot normally.
    2. Monitor Resolution Issue: The resolution issue after waking from sleep could be due to the way Windows initializes displays. When a monitor is connected via DisplayPort (DP), Windows may not always recognize it correctly upon waking, leading to a default resolution of 640x480. A hard reboot of the monitor forces it to reset and can resolve this issue temporarily.

To troubleshoot further, you might consider:

    • Updating your graphics drivers to ensure compatibility with multiple monitors.
    • Checking the settings in Windows for display configurations to see if there's a specific setting that needs adjustment.
    • Testing with a different DP cable or monitor to rule out hardware issues.

If the problem persists, it may be beneficial to explore Windows support resources or forums for additional solutions specific to your hardware configuration.
