    Thanks for updating me.

Since all regional and system locale settings are correctly configured and resettingthe app did not resolve the issue, the next step is to determine whether this is related to your Windows user profile.

Please try creating a temporary new local user account and test Sound Recorder there.

Go to Settings > Accounts > Other users > Add account > Create a temporary username for testing > Sign out and log into the new account > Open Sound Recorder and create a test recording > If the file name appears in English in the new account, this confirms the issue is profile-specific.

    Please keep me posted.

    Thanks for upadting me.

If it happens only with the Sound Recording app, you can try resetting it.

Right-click Start > Windows Terminal >Run the following command:

    Get-AppxPackage SoundRecorder | Reset-AppxPackage

This will reset the Sound Recorder app to its default state.

Restart your computer. Test by creating a new recording.

    Thank you for the clarification.

Please go to Control Panel > Region > Administrative tab > Change system locale > Ensure it is set to English (United States) > Uncheck “Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support” if enabled > Restart the computer > After restarting, test Sound Recorder again, new recordings should now appear with English file names.

    Please keep me posted.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot.

Your preferred language and regional format are set correctly. However, Sound Recorder uses the Windows system locale, which is still set to Malaysia, this is why the file names are not appearing in English. If you want to, you can change it to English (US).

    Hi ,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

Kindly go to Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region > Under “Preferred languages”

Make sure English (United States) is at the top of the list. If not, click it > Move it up.

And then, click Regional format >Set it to English (United States).

New Sound Recorder files will be named in English.
