I now get no sound from two Aesonic speakers connected to my PC. They were working, and still work on my laptop.

    Hi Brett Howard,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that your Aesonic speakers no longer produce sound on your Windows PC, even though they still work correctly on your laptop.

Please make sure you already tried the Q&A Assist steps. In addition, please try the following.

Before proceeding, I would like to narrow this down a bit:

1, Which Windows version are you currently using (Windows 10 or Windows 11)?

2, When audio is playing, do you see the sound level bar moving for the selected output device?

In the meantime, you can try these steps:

    1, Check app‑specific volume settings

    • Right‑click the speaker icon on the taskbar and open Volume mixer
    • Confirm the affected app is not muted and is using the correct output device

    2, Disable audio enhancements

    • Open Sound settings and select your active output device
    • Open device properties and turn off any audio enhancements

    3, Check exclusive mode settings

    • Open Sound settings and select your speakers
    • Open advanced sound settings and disable exclusive mode options

    4, Verify default audio format

    • Open Sound settings and select the speakers
    • Open advanced settings and set the format to a standard option such as 16 bit, 44100 Hz

5, Test sound in Windows system sounds

    • Open Sound settings and use the Test option
    • Confirm whether system sounds play through the speakers

6, Check BIOS or UEFI audio status

    • Restart the PC and enter BIOS or UEFI setup
    • Confirm onboard audio is enabled

    Hi,

    • When did the issue start, and what changes were made to your computer before the issue began?
    • Is the speaker connected via USB, Bluetooth, or audio jack?
    • What is the make and model of your device?

In the search bar, type MSINFO32 and press Enter.

Please share a screenshot of that window.

In the meantime, please try the following methods:

Use an older driver or uninstalling then reinstalling the driver:

    1. Press the Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.
    3. Right-click on your audio driver(Realtek HD Audio, AMD High Definition Audio, etc.)and choose Update driver.
    4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
    5. Click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer."
    6. Select an older driver from the list and click 'Next.'
    7. Follow the onscreen instructions.
    8. if the problem continues, repeat 1-3 and hit uninstall device instead.
    9. Restart your computer(not shutdown) then check if the issue is resolved.

    Enable Windows Audio:

Press the Windows key + R, type services.msc and press Enter.

Scroll through the list and double-click "Windows Audio."

Click the "Start" or 'Restart' button to enable Windows Audio.

Double Click Windows audio, Choose Automatic from the Startup type, click Apply then Ok.

To troubleshoot the issue of no sound from your Aesonic speakers connected to your PC, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Device Manager: Open Device Manager and ensure that your audio drivers are installed and functioning correctly. If there are any issues, you may need to update or reinstall the audio drivers.
    2. Playback Device Settings: Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray, select "Playback devices," and ensure that your speakers are set as the default playback device.
    3. Run the Audio Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and run the Playing Audio troubleshooter to identify and fix issues.
    4. Check Connections: Make sure that the speakers are properly connected to the PC and that the volume is turned up.
    5. Test Different Ports: If your speakers are connected via USB or a specific audio port, try connecting them to a different port to see if that resolves the issue.
    6. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows is up to date, as updates can sometimes fix audio issues.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to refer to your device manufacturer's website for specific audio driver downloads or additional troubleshooting steps.
