Feedback: Personal Subscribers Need a Meaningful AI Upgrade Path (30‑Year Customer)

I’ve been a Microsoft Office user for over 30 years and have subscribed to Microsoft 365 Personal for many years. Recently, I’ve been reconsidering my subscription because the Personal plan no longer offers a meaningful advantage over free alternatives—especially regarding AI.

To get improved Copilot features, personal users must buy a separate Copilot Pro subscription. That means two subscriptions for one person, and no benefit for family members on a Family plan. This makes long‑time loyal users feel overlooked.

I believe Microsoft is missing an opportunity here. A “Personal Plus” tier—with the same apps but enhanced Copilot features—would give personal users a reason to stay and likely increase subscription numbers.

I’m not upset; I’m simply offering honest feedback from someone who has been loyal for decades. I want to stay with Microsoft, but I need a subscription that offers real value beyond what free tools already provide.

I hope this can be passed along to the appropriate team.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Microsoft 365 Personal subscription and the Copilot features. It's important for long-time users like yourself to feel valued and to have access to meaningful enhancements in their subscriptions. Currently, Microsoft 365 Copilot is available as an add-on plan, which may feel like an additional burden for personal users who are already subscribed to Microsoft 365 Personal.

Your suggestion for a "Personal Plus" tier that includes enhanced Copilot features could indeed provide a more compelling reason for users to maintain their subscriptions, especially in a competitive market with free alternatives. Feedback like yours is crucial for Microsoft as it continues to evolve its offerings to better meet the needs of its users.

While I can't pass along your feedback directly, I encourage you to share it through official Microsoft feedback channels, as they often consider user input in their product development strategies.
