The sent folder on Outlook suddenly disappeared. I have checked in options and the save emails box is ticked. How do I get it back?

    Hi Jean Cufley,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

If Sent Items suddenly disappeared in Outlook.com (web), it's usually not gone, it's either unpinned from Favorites, the folder list is collapsed, the folder was moved, or it was deleted and can be restored.

Please try these in Outlook.com (web):

    1) Check Favorites vs. the full Folders list

Sometimes Sent Items is only removed from the Favorites section at the top.

    • Expand the left pane (click ☰ top-left if needed)
    • Look under your full Folders list (below Favorites) for Sent Items
    • If you find it: right-click Sent Items > Add to Favorites (or Pin)

    2) Search for the folder

Scroll through the full folder list or use the search bar at the top to locate "Sent Items" in case it was moved further down.

    3) Restore it if it was deleted

    • Open Deleted Items and look for a Sent Items folder
    • If it's there: right-click > Move it back under your mailbox
    • If it's not there: in Deleted Items, click Recover items deleted from this folder at the top of the message list, search for "Sent Items" or individual sent messages, select them, and click Restore.

Note: If you have a very large number of folders/subfolders, Outlook.com may not show every folder in the list. If you also use the Outlook app on Windows, go to View > Folder Pane > Normal to ensure the folder pane isn't hidden.

Please let me know if this proves useful to you, or if you would like further assistance.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

If your Sent Items folder has disappeared in Outlook, it may be due to the folder being hidden or a filtering issue. Here are some steps you can take to try to restore it:

    1. Check if the folder is hidden: You can use a tool called MFCMAPI to check the properties of your mailbox folders. If the PR_ATTR_HIDDEN property of the Sent Items folder is set to True, it means the folder is hidden. You can change this property to False to make it visible again.
    2. Reset the folder properties: If the folder is hidden, follow these steps:
      • Download and extract the MFCMAPI tool.
      • Launch mfcmapi.exe and log in to your Outlook profile.
      • Navigate to the affected folder and check the PR_ATTR_HIDDEN property.
      • If it is set to True, right-click on it and select Edit Property, then uncheck the Boolean checkbox and select OK.
      • Close all MFCMAPI windows and restart Outlook.
    3. Check for filtering options: Sometimes, items may not be visible due to applied filters. Ensure that no filters are set that could be hiding your Sent Items.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking your Outlook settings or contacting support for further assistance.
