Hi, I am retired and I don't use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word as often I as I did. I had a monthly subscription and stopped it because after retirement. I would like to only subscribe for Word and Excel, if possible, and I don't need the other applications for $9.99 monthly. What can I do?

Currently, Microsoft does not offer a subscription plan that allows you to subscribe only to individual applications like Word and Excel separately. The Microsoft 365 subscription typically includes access to all applications, including Word, Excel, and others, for a monthly fee. However, you might consider purchasing a standalone version of Office that includes just the applications you need, such as Office Home & Student, which typically includes Word and Excel without a subscription model. This could be a more cost-effective solution for your usage needs after retirement.

You can't subscribe to just two Office apps.

As an alternative, you can get a one-time payment license for one computer (PC or Mac). Office Home 2024 includes Excel, Word and PowerPoint; see https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/office-home-2024/cfq7ttc0pqvj .
