I note that the 365 subscription will lose 60 mins of global calls as of March. What will be its replacement and will the price of the service be adjusted as a feature has been lost. In a world of expensive international roaming this feature is essential for travellers. Please advise. Teams is not a suitable replacement nor alternative.

    Hello

I am afraid my answer here will disappoint.

The 60-minute/month credits that come with Microsoft 365 would discontinue March 2026. This was originally announced in the Skype FAQ document when Skype retired last May. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/skype/skype-is-retiring-in-may-2025-what-you-need-to-know-2a7d2501-427f-485e-8be0-2068a9f90472 If you expand this section, it is all explained there: User's image

Unfortunately Microsoft does not offer price adjustment.

In order to use Microsoft Teams to make calls to cell/landline numbers, you will need a Teams business license, and Teams phone with calling plan add on license. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/calling-plans-for-office-365

I hate to share this, but it is not cheap. I personally find it impossible to justify the cost if I don't use it on a frequent basis, like in a business settings. If you just need it once in a while when you are on vacation, it might be better to check out third party and more flexible options.
