The internal computer on this computer did work. It has an on-off switch. I am sure red means off, but please correct me if that's not true.

Lately, the computer says there is no camera detected.

    Hello,

Yes, red typically means it is blocked, so you want to make sure it is not blocked.

Otherwise, can you please hold down Windows + R keys, type in msinfo32.exe and hit enter. Then share a screenshot of the System Information window. Thanks!

If your internal camera was previously working and is now not detected, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow:

    1. Check the Camera Switch: Ensure that the on-off switch for the camera is indeed in the 'on' position. Typically, a red light indicates that the camera is off, but this can vary by device.
    2. Device Manager: Open the Device Manager on your computer and check if the camera is listed under Imaging Devices. If it’s not listed, it may indicate a hardware issue or that the camera is disabled.
    3. Driver Issues: Ensure that the camera drivers are up to date. You can visit the support page for your laptop on the manufacturer's website to download and reinstall the latest drivers.
    4. Privacy Settings: Check if there are any privacy settings that might be blocking access to the camera. Sometimes, applications may not have permission to use the camera.
    5. System Restart: Restart your computer to see if it resolves the detection issue.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, further investigation may be needed to determine if there is a hardware malfunction.
