I know how to turn off the preview pane, but it seems I have to do it EVERY time I open Outlook. Is there a way to turn it off so that it is persistent unless I decide to turn it back on again? I have always been able to do this in Outlook 2010. I have looked online and tried querying Copilot, but those solutions just turn it off for the current session.

To permanently disable the message preview in Outlook 2024 Professional Pro, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open Outlook and go to the View tab.
    2. Click on Message Preview in the ribbon.
    3. Select Off.
    4. If prompted, ensure you select All mailboxes to apply this setting across all your mailboxes.

This should help in keeping the message preview turned off for future sessions. However, if the behavior persists, it may be necessary to check for updates or settings that could be overriding your preferences.

    Hello !

Just to confirm, are you using the new Outlook or the classic version of Outlook ?
Unfortunately, at the moment, you cannot permanently disable the message preview pane in Outlook 2024. Older versions allowed this, but not anymore. If you're using classic Outlook, you can still apply your view to other mail folders.
