An application or feature powered by Windows Copilot to assist users with tasks and productivity
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
With a Microsoft 365 Family / Premium subscription, many benefits (such as the Office apps and storage) can be shared with family members. However, Copilot (AI) features are tied to the subscription owner’s account.
This means:
- The account that owns the subscription can access Copilot in supported Microsoft 365 apps.
- Shared family members can use the apps themselves, but Copilot does not appear for them.
This difference is related to how the Copilot entitlement is assigned to an account, not to a problem with your setup or your wife’s account.

I know this can feel disappointing, especially when the plan is meant to be shared. Unfortunately, this difference comes from how the Copilot entitlement is assigned to individual accounts rather than from any problem with your account.
Hope that clears thing up and if you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
