I have two Microsoft accounts and when I set up my new computer I used the wrong one. I have tried to follow instructions from the internet and still the original account is the administrator. I have tried so long I am confused and have no idea where to start. At one point I had two administrators accounts. i realized I needed to have the original administrators permission because it said something like password protected. I could not figure out where to go to get/ give permission.

    Hello

I am afraid your post is a bit unclear.

ARe you saying, when you go to Settings > Accounts > Your info, you have the wrong Microsoft account listed here?

To change the administrator account on your new computer, you will need to follow these steps:

    1. Log in with the Current Administrator Account: Make sure you are logged in with the account that currently has administrative privileges.
    2. Access Settings: Go to the Settings app by clicking the Start menu and selecting the gear icon.
    3. Accounts: In the Settings window, click on Accounts.
    4. Family & other users: On the left sidebar, select Family & other users.
    5. Change Account Type: Under the section for other users, find the account you want to change to administrator. Click on it, and you should see an option to Change account type. Select this option.
    6. Select Administrator: In the dropdown menu, choose Administrator and click OK.
    7. Log Out and Log In: Log out of the current account and log in with the account you just changed to administrator.

If you encounter any issues or if the original administrator account is password protected, you may need to reset the password or gain access to that account first. If you are unable to do this, consider contacting Microsoft support for further assistance.
