Microsoft does NOT show pop-ups asking you to call a phone number.

    Do NOT call the number

Do NOT give them remote access

    Do NOT enter card details

Do NOT click anything inside the pop-up

Use Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager and End Task to all open programs.

    Reboot.

Open Windows Security Scan and opt for Full Scan.

    Clear all the Browsers cache.

It sounds like you are experiencing a tech support scam pop-up. These pop-ups often claim that your computer is infected with malware and urge you to call a number for assistance. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Do Not Call the Number: Microsoft does not send unsolicited messages or make unsolicited calls. If you see a number to call, it is likely part of the scam.
    2. Close the Pop-Up: Try closing the browser or the pop-up window. If it won't close, you may need to force quit your browser or restart your computer.
    3. Run a Full Scan: Use Microsoft Defender Antivirus to run a full scan of your system. This will help detect and remove any potential malware.
    4. Clear Browser Data: After closing the pop-up, clear your browser's cache and cookies to remove any remnants of the scam.
    5. Update Your Software: Ensure that your operating system and all software are up to date with the latest security patches.
    6. Monitor Your Accounts: Keep an eye on your financial accounts for any unusual activity, especially if you have provided any personal information to the scammers.
    7. Report the Scam: You can report the scam to Microsoft using their reporting tools to help prevent others from falling victim.
