Office 365 typing very slow

New Windows 11 HP laptop. During setup Office 365 downloaded automatically due to installing on previous laptop. Typing is very slow in Word and Excel as well as backspacing. For example when typing two letters or numbers together such as "letters", I only get one t, I have to wait a second to type the second t. When backspacing I can only backspace one character at a time, I have to pause in between. Very strange. Did not find anything in SETTINGS>KEYBOARD. Numbers do the same thing. I just set this new laptop up within the last couple days, very disappointing.

It sounds like you're experiencing performance issues with Office 365 on your new Windows 11 laptop. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the slow typing and backspacing issues:

    1. Check for Updates: Ensure that you have the latest updates installed for both Windows and Office. Sometimes, performance issues can be resolved with the latest patches.
    2. Disable Add-ins: If you have any add-ins installed in Word or Excel, try disabling them to see if that improves performance. Add-ins can sometimes cause slowdowns.
    3. Repair Office: You can try repairing your Office installation. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, find Microsoft Office, and select Modify. Choose the repair option and follow the prompts.
    4. Check Background Processes: Sometimes, other applications running in the background can affect performance. Check your Task Manager to see if any processes are using excessive CPU or memory.
    5. Adjust Performance Options: You can adjust the performance options in Windows. Right-click on the Start button, select System, then Advanced system settings. Under Performance, click Settings and choose "Adjust for best performance."
    6. Run the Office Troubleshooter: Microsoft provides a troubleshooter for Office applications that can help identify and fix issues. You can find it in the Microsoft support site.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
