Problem upgrading from M365 personal to M365 business standard

Hi, I am stuck in limbo between an existing M365 personal account and a new M365 business subscription. As part of the new M365 business subscription, I was allocated a default ******@xx.ommicrosoft.com login and was sent an email to set it up including linking to my personal domain and email address that is the same as my M365 personal account. After configuring the DNS and logging out of M365 business setup, I cannot seem to access my M365 business account - only me M365 personal account. Can anyone assist me with what to do next to resolve this issue - should I cancel my M365 personal account to allow access to the new M365 business account ? Thanks

    Dear @Wayne Jaques,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. I’m happy to assist you.

To better understand the issue, could you please describe in more detail why you’re unable to access the Microsoft 365 business account? It would be helpful to know at which point the problem occurs, for example, whether the issue happens during sign‑in or after you’ve successfully logged in.

Additionally, please confirm which email address you’re using to sign in to the business account, and let me know if you receive any error messages or error codes during the process. If possible, please share the exact wording of the error.

Providing these details will enable me to offer the most accurate next steps and, if necessary, route your request to the appropriate team for further assistance. Looking forward to your response so we can assist you further!

To resolve the issue of being unable to access your Microsoft 365 Business account after setting it up, you can follow these steps:

    1. Ensure Proper Sign-In: Make sure you are signing in with the correct credentials for your Microsoft 365 Business account. Use the default email address provided (e.g., ******@xx.ommicrosoft.com) to log in.
    2. Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can cause issues. Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try logging in again.
    3. Use Incognito Mode: Try accessing your account using an incognito or private browsing window to avoid any cached issues.
    4. Check DNS Configuration: Verify that your DNS settings are correctly configured as per the instructions provided during the setup. Incorrect DNS settings can lead to access issues.
    5. Accessing the Admin Center: If you can log in but cannot access certain features, try going directly to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center to manage your account and settings.
    6. Contact Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance. They can help troubleshoot the specific issue with your account.

Regarding your question about canceling your Microsoft 365 Personal account, it is not necessary to cancel it to access your new Business account. You can keep both accounts, but ensure you are logging in with the correct credentials for the Business account.
