Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

I understand tha audio input (Microphone) is no longer working. To better assist you, let me know the following:

    1. May I know if it is a desktop or a laptop device? If it is a laptop, does your internal Microphone work?
    2. What is the default audio input device selected in the System Sound Settings? (Go to Start> Settings > System > Sounds > Choose your default input device)
    3. Do your speakers (Audio output) work normally?
    4. Did you test your microphone in default Windows apps like Sound Recorder app?

If you're having trouble with your microphone not working, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Connections: Ensure that your headphone mic is properly connected to your device. If it has a physical mute button, make sure it's not muted.
    2. Audio Settings: Go to your audio settings in Windows. You can do this by right-clicking the sound icon in the taskbar and selecting "Sounds". Under the "Recording" tab, make sure your microphone is set as the default device.
    3. Microphone Setup: Run the Microphone Setup troubleshooter. You can find this in Settings > Time & Language > Speech. Select "Get Started" in the "Microphone" section and follow the prompts.
    4. Check Permissions: Make sure that the application you are using to communicate (like a chat app) has permission to access your microphone. You can check this in Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
    5. Update Drivers: Ensure that your audio drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager by expanding the "Sound, video and game controllers" section, right-clicking your audio device, and selecting "Update driver".

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider trying a different microphone or headset to see if the problem persists.
