DirectX 12 is installed by default as part of the operating system and the graphics drivers, what version of DirectX are you trying to install and why do you need to install DirectX separately.

What can I do to fix this? I have Windows 11 Pro.

"The following component(s) are required to run this program:
DirectX Runtime" pops up.
I have tried the installing DirectX setup again (dxwebsetup), but it fails and says "An internal system error occurred. Please Refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine problem.", which is what my problem currently is. I have no idea what to do with those logs.

On the resulting DirectX utility, select the Display tab.
Please provide a screenshot of that Display tab.

Move the DirectX Web Installer into a different folder, then right click the installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to test if the installation then succeeds.

2026-02-24T12:19:19.89+00:00 The logs indicate a problem with the DirectX installer file, it may be corrupt, or I also see it seems to be stored on your Desktop, if you use OneDrive, to sync your files online, that may be causing problems with the installer.
Download a new DirectX Web installer from the Microsoft website, then move the installer into a folder that is not synced to OneDrive,, so not the Desktop, Documents or Pictures folders, then try running that new installer as Administrator.

Do you use any other 3rd party utility to sync your files online or do you have a 3rd party anti-virus installed on your PC.

On the resulting list of services, scroll down to find the VGC service.
Double click that service, then set its Startup type to Automatic and start that service.
Save those settings and try installing the DirectX Runtime again.

2026-02-24T13:32:13.8133333+00:00 Okay, please try this process to rule out any corruption in Windows, if this is unsuccessful, it would be best to contact Valorant Support on their website.
Open the Settings App, then go to System - Recovery.
Click the 'Reinstall Now' button in the 'Fix problems with Windows Updates' section and wait for that process to complete, then try installing the DirectX runtime again.

- Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool 64-bit FRST64.exe
- If the OS language is not English, rename
FRST64.exetoFRST64English.exe. - Download fixlist.txt
- Save
Fixlist.txtto the same folder asFRST64English.exe. - Close all programs.
- Launch the Farbar Scanner tool and click "Fix".
See if that resolves the issue.

Did you run the fixlist.txt I gave you? If so, it outputs fixlog.txt in the same folder.
