I've tried to install Windows 11 version 25H2 several times over the last week and I get the same error code each time. Please can you advise what to do.

You may be able to perform a quick upgrade to version 25H2, depending on your currently installed version of Windows 11.

Click your Start Button, then just type winver and press Enter please provide a screenshot of the resulting dialog box.

The error code 0x800f0983 typically indicates that there is a problem with the installation files or that certain prerequisites are not met for the Windows 11, version 25H2 update. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

    1. Check for Updates: Ensure that your current version of Windows is fully updated. Go to Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates. Install any pending updates.
    2. Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter: This built-in tool can help identify and fix issues with Windows Update. You can find it in Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
    3. Ensure Prerequisites are Met: Make sure you are running Windows 11, version 24H2 or later, as the 25H2 update requires this version to be installed first.
    4. Free Up Disk Space: Ensure that you have enough disk space available for the update. Sometimes, insufficient space can cause installation errors.
    5. Use the Windows Update Assistant: If the update is still failing, you can try using the Windows Update Assistant to manually install the update.
    6. Check for Corrupted System Files: Run the System File Checker tool by opening Command Prompt as an administrator and typing sfc /scannow. This will check for and repair any corrupted system files that might be causing the issue.
    7. Review Logs for More Information: If the error persists, you can review the Windows Update logs for more detailed information about the error, which might help in diagnosing the problem further.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
