The FN key problem.

The FN key is doing other things that it shouldn’t do

FN + F3 opens a menu where I can choose which app to bring to the front (exactly like Alt + Tab).

FN + F10 enables or disables the volume, but it works very slowly and sometimes doesn’t toggle properly.

FN + F11 decreases the volume by 2, and FN + F12 increases the volume by 2.

Personally, I think some sort of key combination might have caused this. I’ve watched a lot of videos, but none of them helped. SO I'm here to get help.

    1

Press Fn + Esc to test if that removes the Function Lock on your keyboard.

    2

If not, boot your PC into BIOS and check if there is an option in there to toggle between Function Keys and Media/Action Keys

    3

If that still does not resolve the problem, if you are using a laptop with an internal keyboard, what is the make and model number of your laptop, if you are using a PC with an external keyboard, what is the make and model number of the keyboard.

It sounds like the FN key on your keyboard may be experiencing some unintended behavior, which could be due to a few different factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check for Debris: Sometimes, debris under the keys can cause unexpected behavior. Use compressed air to blow under the affected keys and wipe them with a slightly damp microfiber cloth.
    2. Test with an External Keyboard: If you have access to an external keyboard, connect it and see if the FN key functions correctly there. If it does, the issue may be hardware-related with your laptop's keyboard.
    3. Boot in Safe Mode: Restart your computer in Safe Mode. If the FN key works correctly in Safe Mode, a third-party application might be interfering with its functionality.
    4. Check Keyboard Settings: Look into your keyboard settings in Windows to see if there are any options related to the FN key or function keys that may have been changed inadvertently.
    5. Update Drivers: Ensure that your keyboard drivers are up to date. You can check for updates through the Device Manager in Windows.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be worth consulting your device's manufacturer support for further assistance.
