I have a new Win 11 laptop and I can't get it to appear on my MS account device list. The only option I see is to register an other device and I confirmed the SN but it doesn't work. Your on-line Q&A says that the new device will be automatically added but it doesn't appear.

The method to add a device to your Microsoft account using a serial number is only available for Microsoft manufactured devices, like a Surface laptop... etc.

For all other devices, ensure you log into the device with your Microsoft account, then enable the Location Services setting for all apps and the 'Find My Device' setting in the Settings app, your device will then be automatically be added to your Microsoft account, that will not happen immediately, but it will happen eventually, because there is a widely reported problem with devices not showing up on the Microsoft account online even though the device is linked to the account correctly, it is a server side problem Microsoft needs to fix.

If your new Windows 11 laptop is not appearing in your Microsoft account device list, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Ensure You're Signed In: Make sure you are signed in to your Microsoft account on the new laptop. You can check this in the Settings app under "Accounts".
    2. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 is up to date. Sometimes, pending updates can affect device registration.
    3. Activation: If you upgraded your laptop from Windows 11 Home to Pro, ensure that the activation process was completed successfully. If there were issues during activation, it might prevent the device from appearing in your account.
    4. Device Registration: Sometimes, devices may take a while to appear in your account. If you have recently set up the device, give it some time.
    5. Manual Registration: If automatic registration fails, you can try to manually register the device through the Microsoft account website. Ensure that you are entering the correct serial number.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
