Dear PIERROT ABOU AAD
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand you are having a problem adding your Hotmail address to Gmail for “send mail as,” and Gmail reports the connection is rejected by Outlook servers. I am happy to assist you. Please follow these steps:
- If Gmail is asking for a password and it keeps getting rejected, use an app password
- If your Hotmail/Outlook.com account has 2‑step verification enabled, Gmail cannot use your normal password. You must create an App Password here: https://account.live.com/proofs/AppPassword. Use that App Password in Gmail > Add another email address > SMTP settings.
- If you have not enabled two-step verification yet, enable it first (required to use app passwords)
- Turn on two-step verification from the Security tab of your Microsoft account and note it changes sign-in behavior for better protection. After it’s enabled, you can use app passwords where needed.
- If you are trying to add Hotmail to Gmail as an email “account” (IMAP/POP), use Microsoft’s published POP/IMAP settings
- If your goal is receiving Hotmail mail inside Gmail (not just sending as), see POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings for Outlook.com - Microsoft Support
