24 Feb 2026. My system has been on Release Preview for the longest time. Just went to Windows Update and it is downloading a Beta Channel Release. I have never changed to Beta Channel so why in the world is it downloading Beta???????

Before fault Beta update was completed I delete WindowsSelfHost-key from registry to get out of insider program and restart. Then I pause updates and delete content of C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and reboot again. Now it's downloading 26200.7922.

I relink back to RPC when this issue is fixed and RPC is available again.

You can also dl Windows11.0-KB5077241-x64 from MS Catalog and install manually. It does show 2 different versions.7922

    MS Oops!

    Hello,

The issue was reported to Brandon and he has conveyed this to the Team. Follow the above advice to get out of Insider. They must be working on it on their end as at this time, cannot rejoin Insider.

I did the update after switching to Release, now waiting for them to Fix the ability to join back.

    Regards,
