Hello Claudia, I am Henry and I want to help you with this issue.
First, we need to ensure that every computer is properly connected to the network, either through Ethernet or local Wi‑Fi.
- Wired (Ethernet): Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into your PC and the other end into your router. Your computer should connect automatically.
- Wireless (Wi-Fi): Click the network icon in your taskbar, select your Wi-Fi network, click "Connect," and enter the password if prompted.
On both computers, carry out the following steps, making sure they are connected to the same local network.
Step 1: Enable Network Discovery and File Sharing
- Open the Start Menu, type Control Panel, and press Enter.
- Go to Network and Sharing Center.
- On the left, click Change advanced sharing settings.
- Expand the Private (current profile) section.
- Select Turn on network discovery and check the box for Turn on automatic setup of network connected devices.
- Select Turn on file and printer sharing.
- Click Save changes.
Step 2: Share a Specific Folder
- On the computer you want to access, right-click the folder you need to share and select Properties.
- Go to the Sharing tab and click Advanced Sharing....
- Check the box for Share this folder.
- Click Permissions, select Everyone, and check the boxes for the level of access you want to grant (e.g., Read or Full Control).
- Click OK on all open windows.
I hope you’ll give my recommendation a try and let me know how it goes and if this answer helps, feel free to hit “Accept Answer” so others can benefit too.
