Windows 11 MIDI - not seeing any MIDI devices after installing Korg Bluetooth MIDI driver

I am working with Windows 11 Pro on a Dell ProSlim for music production and have similar problems that others have reported on various threads.

All MIDI devices in the studio are now not working after attempting to install a Korg NanoKey using it's bluetooth connectivity and the Korg Ble-MIDI driver. All the MIDI devices now show in slots midi10 or higher and are not seen by the DAW, nor by MidiOx. I have followed all the recommendations on the Korg website (Using the Korg MIDI driver tools to delete unused slots) but it doesn't work as the slots remain grayed out. The registry doesn't show any midi ports other than midi0. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I did see on another Microsoft thread that even using the Korg USB Tools app causes Windows 11 MIDI to malfunction. I contacted Dell and their software support is proposing to do a clean re-install of Windows 11. Is this the only solution?

It seems like you are experiencing issues with MIDI devices not being recognized in Windows 11 after installing the Korg Bluetooth MIDI driver. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check Bluetooth Settings: Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your device and that your Korg NanoKey is properly paired.
    2. Update Drivers: Make sure that all your drivers, especially the Bluetooth and MIDI drivers, are up to date. You can check for updates via Windows Update or visit the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers.
    3. Device Manager: Open Device Manager and check if there are any issues with the MIDI devices listed. If there are any yellow exclamation marks, you may need to reinstall the drivers.
    4. MIDI Tools: Since you mentioned using Korg's MIDI driver tools, ensure that you have deleted any unused MIDI slots properly. If the slots remain grayed out, it may indicate a deeper issue with the driver installation.
    5. Registry Check: If the registry shows only midi0 and not the other ports, it could indicate that the drivers are not functioning correctly. You may want to consider removing and reinstalling the Korg driver.
    6. DAW Settings: Check the settings in your DAW to ensure that it is set to recognize the MIDI devices. Sometimes, you may need to refresh or rescan for MIDI devices within the software.
    7. Clean Install: If none of the above steps work, a clean reinstall of Windows 11, as suggested by Dell support, may be a last resort to resolve any underlying software conflicts.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, you may want to reach out to Korg support for further assistance, as they may have specific solutions for their hardware and drivers.
