Hi Everyone. I am trying to access my businesses email and admin portal. My owner husband set up our business emails through outlook. He doesn't know the password or has the phone number that is attached to the admin email. I'm really struggling here and have no idea how to fix this. I have my email authenticated and the other 2 emails on the account are used all the time but no one can get into the admin email. I have no way of changing the card on the account for billing purposes or anything.

I don't know how to move forward with this and cant seem to find help anywhere. Please Please Please someone help me with this so i can actually the owner so we can regain access to the organization again. This email was the only admin and we have no way to get into it. Thanks so much!

    Dear @Floss Finance,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft 365 Q&A forum. I understand the critical situation you are facing. Being locked out of the only admin account, with no access to billing or management, is incredibly stressful, but please know that this is a recoverable situation.

Because you have no other administrators who can help, the only way to resolve this is to work directly with Microsoft Support's dedicated Data Protection Team. This team is specifically authorized to verify your identity and restore access for locked-out Global Admins.

As a member of the community support team, I’m limited in my ability to access or make changes within your administrator account. For security and privacy reasons, only Microsoft’s dedicated support team has the necessary tools and authorization to assist with account-level issues such as resetting or troubleshooting deep within your account.

Here are the two methods you can use to contact them.

Select 1: Contact Microsoft Support by Phone

If you are unable to access the Microsoft 365 admin center, you can contact Microsoft Support directly.

Find the appropriate phone number for your region here: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

To help you navigate the automated phone system (IVR), here’s an example of how the conversation might go:

    • IVR: What kind of problem are you concerned about?   You: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
    • IVR: What kind of product do you use?   You: Office 365 for business
    • IVR: Education or business account?   You: For business
    • IVR: Are you an administrator?   You: Yes
    • IVR: Do you have another administrator in your organization?   You: No
    • IVR: Do you need a service request?   You: Yes

This should help you get connected to a live support agent who can assist you directly.

Note: Sometimes, you would hear the computer-generated voice at first, please kindly wait for it to end, and if an agent is available, you would be directed to them and get your support. During peak hours, there might be high call volumes, so we kindly ask for your patience as we work to assist everyone as quickly as possible.

Select 2: Create a Temporary Tenant to Submit a Support Ticket

Important: Please remember to cancel the trial subscription once your issue is resolved to avoid any charges.

If your organization's Office 365 Business/Education subscription is from a partner or reseller, and the global administrator is unable to open a service request on your end, contact the reseller's support provider to help open a service request on behalf of you instead.

I hope the above information is clear. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please let me know how it goes after trying the steps above. I’m here to help further if needed.

To regain access to your admin email and portal, you will need to follow a few steps, especially since the admin account is crucial for managing your business's Microsoft 365 services. Here are some options you can consider:

    1. Contact Microsoft Support: Since your husband set up the account and you do not have access to the password or the phone number associated with the admin email, you will need to reach out to Microsoft support. You can find the customer service phone numbers for your region and explain your situation. Make sure to mention that you are trying to access the admin account and that your organization does not have any other admins.
    2. Data Protection Team: If you are the only global admin for your organization, you may need to contact the Microsoft Data Protection team directly. They have specific processes to help recover access to accounts under such circumstances. When you call, be prepared to verify your identity and provide details about your organization.
    3. Alternative Admins: If there are any other users in your organization who might have admin privileges, you could ask them to help reset the password or change the associated phone number.
    4. Trial Tenant: If you cannot get through to support, consider creating a new trial tenant. This will allow you to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and submit a support ticket requesting help with your locked admin account. Just remember that this new tenant will be separate from your original account and will not give you access to any existing data.
    5. Documentation: Be ready to provide any official business documentation that can help verify your ownership of the account when you contact support.

These steps should help you move forward in regaining access to your admin email and portal.
