My account was hacked. I changed my password to reset my account. No emails have been sent to my email address in the past two weeks despite numerous attempts to fix the problem. I'm unable to speak with a tech support person from microsoft and the online assistance is confusing and detailed.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

To help narrow down the issue:

Do you currently have full access to your Outlook account (you can sign in normally and see your inbox and settings)?

Also, can you please check if your Outlook (Attachments) storage is full?

If your mailbox is near or over the storage limit, new emails might not arrive in your inbox https://onedrive.live.com/managestorage in the same page, please check your OneDrive storage as it's linked to your Microsoft account and can sometimes affect email services if it's full.

To be safe, I recommend the following steps:

Check your account rules and forwarding settings, hackers create rules that automatically forward or delete emails. You can do this in Outlook settings under Mail > Rules and Forwarding. https://support.microsoft.com/office/manage-email-messages-by-using-rules-in-outlook-c24f5dea-9465-4df4-ad17-a50704d66c59

Just to be safe, I’d recommend to sign out everywhere. Visit: https://account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional Scroll down to Sign me out and select "Sign me out".

And changing your password again and enabling two-step verification if you haven’t already. This will add an extra layer of security to prevent future unauthorized access. If your account was hacked and you are unable to retrieve emails, there are a few steps you can take to regain access and resolve the issue:

    1. Check Recovery Options: Ensure that you have access to any recovery options you may have set up, such as alternate email addresses or phone numbers. This can help in resetting your password or verifying your identity.
    2. Use the Account Recovery Form: If you haven't already, try using the official Microsoft account recovery form at account.live.com/acsr. This form can help you regain access to your account by verifying your identity through various means.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: If the recovery form does not work, it's advisable to contact Microsoft Support directly. They may offer chat support or a callback option depending on your region. You can find support options at the Microsoft Support contact page.
    4. Monitor for Suspicious Activity: Once you regain access, check your account for any unauthorized changes or settings that may have been altered by the hacker.
    5. Secure Your Account: After regaining access, change your password to a strong, unique one and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to enhance your account security.

If you continue to face issues, be persistent in reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
