Based on our review, the initial issue appears to be related to Face Check not being triggered due to missing configuration prerequisites. Face Check with Microsoft Entra Verified ID requires the Face Check add‑on to be explicitly enabled, a valid Azure subscription to be linked, and the verification flow to include a credential that contains a photo claim. If any of these conditions are not met, Face Check will not activate during verification, even though Verified ID itself is working.
The recommended resolution is to ensure the Face Check add‑on is enabled and validated in the Entra admin center, the Azure subscription and region are supported, and that the application or verification request explicitly requests Face Check with a photo‑based credential. Once these are in place, Face Check should prompt the user for a live selfie via Microsoft Authenticator as expected.
