I had multiple charges to my credit card via paypal - that were definitely not mine. I spoke to the bank and cancelled the card - but the transactions were completed on my Microsoft account. I want microsoft to investigate - but cannot raise an investigation cos the card is no longer valid and cannot seem to bring it up on my microsoft account. Cant call anyone - what to do next?

If your Microsoft account has been compromised and you are unable to investigate the charges because your credit card is no longer valid, you can take the following steps:

    1. Contact Microsoft Support: Since you cannot raise an investigation through your Microsoft account due to the invalid card, it is essential to reach out to Microsoft Support directly. You can do this by visiting the Microsoft Support contact page and looking for options to chat with a support agent or request a callback.
    2. Account Recovery: If you believe your account was hacked, consider filling out the Microsoft Account Recovery form. This can help you regain access to your account and provide Microsoft with the necessary information to assist you further. You can find the recovery form at Microsoft Account Recovery.
    3. Report Fraudulent Charges: Inform Microsoft about the unauthorized charges. They may have specific procedures for handling such cases, especially if you are unable to access your account due to the compromised status.
    4. Monitor Your Accounts: Keep an eye on your bank statements and any other accounts linked to your PayPal to ensure no further unauthorized transactions occur.
    5. Consider a New Payment Method: If you need to continue using Microsoft services, consider setting up a new payment method once your account is secure.

Taking these steps will help you address the unauthorized charges and secure your account.
